India’s leading CDMA operator Reliance Infocomm is planning to strengthen its R-World platform by offering m-Commerce services to its subscribers. R-World, which is Reliance Infocomm's information and entertainment service, is currently free and offers over 100 applications ranging from interactive TV programme guides and city guides to live news, songs, ring tones, greeting cards, cricket information, pictures, video clips e.t.c
The following m-Commerce services are planned:
: Booking tickets for domestic air-travel
: Purchasing movie tickets, shopping and expanding payment mechanisms through Reliance India Mobile (RIM)
: In association with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corp (IRCTC), Reliance subscribers can book railways tickets over the phone. The service is already operational in the Delhi and National Capital region.
