: The Sun launches WAP site with monophonic and polyphonic ringtones with the backend provided by Bango. The company already has mobile content presence with operator portals Vodafone live! and Orange World.

: Blue Frog Mobile partners with Alcon Entertainment to create mobile content for the upcoming theatrical release of the animated motion picture Racing Stripes. Branded content includes wallpapers and ringtones of the movie characters voices and will be available to most US carriers.

: Beijing Linkhead Technologies launches Color ringback tone services for China Unicom –

With the CRBT service ("Cai-Ling"), subscribers can customize the ring tone from a wide selection of commercial music, personalized messages, celebrity greetings, or voice advertisements to replace the monotonous ring connecting tone that the caller would hear.

: EMI Music UK inks a deal with Orange to offer official true tones and Fireplayer tracks to mobile subscribers. The Fireplayer is a differentiating service where you can download music tracks of your favourite artists and remix them on the phone, which can be saved for later use. Pricing is set to £3.50, which is exceptionally high.

: T-Mobile UK is promoting its mobile music services with an MMS and direct mail campaign featuring offers from well known artists such as Black-Eyed Peas and Britney Spears. The operator currently has 500,000 subscribers to its mobile music services.

The Hispanic market, with a population of 36 million people, is the fastest growing demographic in the United States. According to a survey done by Scarborough Research, monthly cell phone bills for the U.S. Hispanic population is $67, ten percent higher than the national average. “The Spanish ringtones we already have in our database are very popular, and they really bring a lot of traffic to our site,” said Mike Lieberman, marketing manager of MonsterTones. “We hope to stay ahead of our competitors in this market by taking our Spanish products to the next level
