Stanford graduate Pakistani documentary filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid wants to voice her own bit on terrorism. Her current feature - Reinventing the Taliban is a brave effort who ventured into dangerous pockets along the Pakistan-Afganistan border for the project:
The film brings a uniquely personal perspective to the disturbing rise of radical Islamic fundamentalism within Pakistan, and follows Obaid as a young Pakistani woman, who despite warnings of the dangers decides to travel into North West Pakistan, a stronghold of Islamic fundamentalism. Obaid is currently producing a documentary for PBS Frontline World (USA) about the recent friendship gestures between India and Pakistan and is developing her third film project about Kashmir for the Discovery Times Channel.
